Over the day you will learn basket weaving techniques to create a simple small foraging basket that traditionally would’ve been used for foraging berries or mushrooms.

With a simple border and handle this little basket is much quicker to make than a traditional shopping basket. With a unique design for the handle this would have been a basket that was made in the home, by travellers, and those needing a simple quick basket that probably weren’t full-time weavers.

I came across this basket couple of years ago and instantly fell in love with it! Small, pretty and very useful. Great for small delicate items like berries, light and easy to carry. Also good for storing small things in the home such as a fruit basket, or toiletries.

Come alone and meet other crafty folk or come with a friend or two for a special day together.

The willows tea and coffee house on the ground floor of the building will be open during the course for the finest ethical rainforest alliance coffee, teas, award-winning cakes and simple savouries.
