Learn how to make a shopping trolley chair from sustainably coppiced willow & hazel.
Using beautiful English willow you will create a truly unique but practical piece.
Day 1- you will mark out, cut, sand & seal, drill & ‘dry’ assemble the base to check the position of the handle, wheels & upstand. You will shape the handle, upstand & make a sealing polish for both your base & handle & apply one coat. By the end of the day you will have your willow stakes (uprights in place) ready to begin weaving the wale.
Day 2- you will start to weave & shape the basket, incorporating the handle as you weave. You will border the top of the basket, then bolt on the wheels & knock/glue in the upstand to complete the piece.
