After the success of last year’s courses with Rachel Frost we are thrilled she has agreed to come back and develop our skills using this wonderful English product.
Rachel is a professional traditional hat maker. She regularly makes pieces for film, TV, theatre, museums, designers and private commissions. Over her career she has become an expert in many fields as her work requires and consequently has a very wide skill set.
Over the day you’ll be guided by Rachel to create your own unique Fresh Water rush garlic holder bag. These unique bags can also be used to house a number of different items.
Using the indigenous common bulrush (Scirpus Lacustris) still harvested in the wild, the way it always has been from the river Thames. Working on wooden formers, you will be using this wonderfully supple material and techniques common to basketry to create a beautiful, stylish and useful garlic holder.
This course is suitable for beginners and intermediates.
